Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026 · Velocity (revenue recovery for eCommerce)
Who we are
Velocity provides software and services that help online merchants recover revenue from abandoned carts and similar purchase-intent events, including automated follow-up across channels such as SMS, email, and chat. This policy describes how we handle personal and business data in connection with those services.
Data we process
Depending on your use of Velocity, we may process:
- Account & billing: name, email, company, payment-related records, and subscription or contract details.
- Store & integration data: identifiers and configuration from connected platforms (e.g. Shopify, WooCommerce), product and cart context needed to run recovery flows, and technical logs.
- Customer & shopper data: information your store shares with us to deliver messages (e.g. contact details, cart contents, order status) — processed on your behalf as a service provider.
- Usage & support: in-app activity, support tickets, and communications with our team.
Storefront behavior & anonymous sessions
When our script runs on a merchant storefront, we may store a random browser id (e.g. in localStorage) to log events such as product views, cart changes, exit-intent, and chat — before we know an email. After you identify (e.g. capture or checkout), we may attach those events to your lead for automation and support. Merchants remain responsible for their own cookie banners and disclosures on their domains.
Marketing SMS
If you provide a mobile number and opt in to SMS, we may send automated marketing texts about revenue recovery. Frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out; HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Product teams should confirm copy with qualified counsel (not legal advice here).
How we use data
We use data to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Velocity platform and recovery automations.
- Train and operate AI-assisted messaging where enabled, consistent with your settings and applicable law.
- Bill, authenticate, secure our services, and comply with legal obligations.
- Analyze aggregated or de-identified metrics to improve product performance.
Legal bases & sharing
Where GDPR applies, we rely on contract, legitimate interests (e.g. security and product improvement), and consent where required. We may share data with subprocessors (hosting, messaging carriers, analytics) under agreements that limit use to providing our services. We do not sell personal information as defined under U.S. state privacy laws.
Retention & security
We retain data only as long as needed for the purposes above, your instructions, and legal requirements. We use industry-standard safeguards; no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Merchants are responsible for honoring their own customers' requests where Velocity acts only as a processor. Contact us using the details on your order or contract to exercise rights or ask questions.
International transfers
If data is transferred across borders, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses) where required.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date will change. Material changes may be communicated by email or in-product notice.
